Make half your plate fruits and/or vegetables. Consider that you have all colors on your plate including red, orange, light green and dark green. Find healthier snacks to enjoy whether you are relaxing at home or out with friends or family.
How to reduce the intake of unhealthy foods
Make foods such as cakes, cookies, ice cream, pizza and burgers occasional choices – not everyday foods. When you do have them, try to eat in smaller quantities.
Drink water instead of sugary drinks.
Eating too much salt can raise your blood pressure. Eat less salt and experiment with other spices and flavors. Look at food labels and try to select the one with less salt.
