Questions & answers
Is Brava® Protective Seal flexible?
The new polymer formulation makes the seal both very flexible and at the same time quite strong. It stays firmly in place until it is removed, giving the wearer a feeling of security, and it follows body movements to accommodate an active lifestyle.
Is the ring designed to hold up against aggressive output, e.g. from an ileostomy?
Yes. The Brava®Protective Seal is durable, so it is suitable for people with an ileostomy, acolostomy, or a urostomy. The seal is resistant to aggressive output and its high tack makes it stick fast, which is beneficial for people where the speed of pouch changes is important.
Can children with an ostomy use the Brava® Protective Seal?
Yes. The new seal is also suitable for children with intact skin.
Why does it come in many different sizes?
Different people with an ostomy have different stoma sizes. The Brava® Protective Seal comes in three different diameters to accommodate individual stoma sizes and minimize the need for stretching. We also offer two thicknesses to choose from, to meet the needs of people with different types of skin irregularities around the stoma. The thin option acts like a gasket – creating a seal – while a thicker seal provides more material to fill increases and folds around the stoma. So whether they have superficial or deep folds and creases, we offer a solution for them.
