SenSura Mio has an elastic adhesive that adapts to your contours and bends and stretches in response to changes in your body shape. Try it on your knuckles to see how it stretches!
The magic lies in the elasticity of the adhesive barrier; it can stretch and retract back. Skin has a natural elasticity that helps it bend and stretch when the body moves. Like skin, SenSura Mio is elastic, so it simply bends and stretches with your skin when your body moves.
It has the strength of a stiff ring and the flexibility of a spring. Therefore it's secure and easy to handle - and that's exactly what you need in a 2-piece ostomy system.
In a 2-piece system, the coupling is crucial. You may not feel secure if you are worried that the pouch will accidentally detach. Now you know it won't - simply by listening to the new locking ring clicking into place.
When we designed the SenSura Mio pouch, we decided on a completely different approach to discretion. The gray color and the soft, silent fabric is a big change from what you would normally see in medical equipment. The result is an ostomy pouch unlike anything else on the market
The specially chosen color does not try to look like skin. Instead, this neutral color is discreet across a variety of skin tones, as well as under clothing. It allows the pouch to go unnoticed.
Incidences of ballooning are a problem for many people with a colostomy and ileostomy. It may cause problems at night disrupting your sleep as well as inconvenience and indiscretion during the day. Our solution is a new full-circle filter that reduces clogging- and therefore reducing incidences of ballooning.
