    Odor can be bothersome when changing or emptying the pouch, particularly when you're on the go. While your pouch should contain the odor effectively, a deodorant can give you peace of mind that odor won't be noticeable in everyday life.

    Hex-On® is an odor antagonist.
    • Controls airborne odors

    IMPORTANT! If you have any concerns – such as skin problems or how to use new products – you should always consult your ostomy nurse.

    Order sample
    • Ask a trusted relative/friend to be honest and tell you if they can notice any odor. 
    • A household air freshener or special odor antagonist sprayed into the room can help mask the smell when changing or emptying the pouch.
    • Try changing the pouch more frequently (the filter might be contaminated by output, or the plastic of your pouch might be worn out).
    • Make sure the outlet is cleaned properly upon emptying (if using a drainable pouch).
    • Try another type of pouch with another type of filter (SenSura Mio for instance).
    • Avoiding foods that intensify odor can be helpful (fish/eggs/leafy vegetables).  For those with a urostomy, asparagus can intensify the smell of urine.
    • Use a filter cover (they are little stickers that come in the box with your pouches) when your pouch gets wet.
