Unpredictable changing patterns while travelling or participating in social events

Long trips or social engagements where you only have access to inadequate toilet and disposal facilities can leave you out of your comfort zone and lead you to wear your pouching system longer than is advised. But - as with any other time - it's critical that your barrier can still protect your skin.

Brava® Elastic Barrier Strips – Curved Brava® Elastic Barrier Strips – Curved

Elastic -- so they move with you

The Brava® Elastic Barrier Strip secures the position of the barrier and is elastic so it follows your body shape and movements.

Brava® Elastic Barrier Strip is also available in other shapes to fit other body profiles and types of barriers.

The Brava® Elastic Barrier Strip is designed to prevent the edges of the barrier from lifting and rolling and keeps your barrier securely in place. It is elastic so it follows body contours and movements. This can provide greater security and peace of mind that your barrier will stay in place.

They are also skin-friendly as they absorb moisture.

The strips are designed to stick around the edges of your barrier (overlapping onto your skin, like a picture frame around your barrier). You can use either one or two strips, depending on where you need extra security.

Brava® Protective Seal Brava® Protective Seal

The Brava® Protective Seal creates a seal between the stoma and barrier and is designed to protect against leakage and protect the skin. The seal is also easy to shape to fit around your stoma, to apply and to remove from your skin.

The Brava® Protective Seal has a new polymer formulation that is designed to protect against leakage and protect the skin, thereby providing dual protection. It is easy to shape so it fits snugly around the stoma and can be applied over the skin with dips, creases and folds. When it’s time to remove your barrier, the seal can be removed easily and cleanly, together with the barrier, leaving minimal residue behind.

IMPORTANT! If you have any concerns – such as skin problems or how to use new products – you should always consult your ostomy nurse.

  • Consider using a larger pouch with a bigger volume to manage output and gas for a longer time.
  • If using a closed pouch, consider switching to a drainable pouch. If travelling by plane you may also produce more gas, which is more manageable in a drainable pouch.
