Are you worried about leakage during intimate moments?

Feeling insecure about leakage can affect confidence. This may be a challenge during intimacy and make it hard to initiate sexual activity.

Brava® Elastic Barrier Strips – Curved Brava® Elastic Barrier Strips – Curved

Elastic -- so they move with you

The Brava® Elastic Barrier Strip secures the position of the barrier and is elastic so it follows your body shape and movements.

Brava® Elastic Barrier Strip is also available in other shapes to fit other body profiles and types of barriers.

The Brava® Elastic Barrier Strip is designed to prevent the edges of the barrier from lifting and rolling and keeps your barrier securely in place. It is elastic so it follows body contours and movements. This can provide greater security and peace of mind that your barrier will stay in place.

They are also skin-friendly as they absorb moisture.

The strips are designed to stick around the edges of your barrier (overlapping onto your skin, like a picture frame around your barrier). You can use either one or two strips, depending on where you need extra security.

Brava® Belt for SenSura Mio Brava® Belt for SenSura Mio

The Brava belt with four belt hooks is specially designed to work with SenSura Mio.

A belt is designed to provide extra security, particularly for someone using a convex barrier. It is used to keep the barrier in place – and pull a convex barrier even closer to the body, allowing the stoma to stick out. This can be particularly helpful if you find it challenging to get a pouching system that fits your body shape.

The Brava Belt for SenSura Mio has four belt hooks, so it provides stable pressure across the entire barrier. It is made of soft, comfortable material in a neutral-gray color that optimizes discretion. A soft, cloth-covered tab won't dig in, and allows you to adjust the belt to fit to your body. Extended size options are available: standard (40 in) and XXL (61 in).

The Brava Belt for SenSura Mio is designed to be attached to a SenSura Mio barrier that has built-in belt tabs - specifically any SenSura Mio Convex product or a SenSura Mio Click barrier (flat or convex). (Note: for any other barrier type, including SenSura or Assura, please use the regular Brava Belt)

Brava® Protective Seal Brava® Protective Seal

The Brava® Protective Seal creates a seal between the stoma and barrier and is designed to protect against leakage and protect the skin. The seal is also easy to shape to fit around your stoma, to apply and to remove from your skin.

The Brava® Protective Seal has a new polymer formulation that is designed to protect against leakage and protect the skin, thereby providing dual protection. It is easy to shape so it fits snugly around the stoma and can be applied over the skin with dips, creases and folds. When it’s time to remove your barrier, the seal can be removed easily and cleanly, together with the barrier, leaving minimal residue behind.

IMPORTANT! If you have any concerns – such as skin problems or how to use new products – you should always consult your ostomy nurse.

  • As a general rule you should talk with your doctor to understand if there are any types of sexual activity you should avoid.

  • First, keeping the pouch clean and empty is a good idea. You may want to put a new pouch on beforehand. You can also use a smaller pouch for increased discretion.
  • For discretion, some people switch to an ostomy cap (a much smaller pouch, available in 1-piece or 2-piece options, that doesn't hold much output and is instead designed to simply cover the stoma). Other people may switch to a smaller mini-pouch or a closed-end pouch. All of these choices are smaller, less bulky and more discreet.
  • Men might consider wearing a tank top that covers the pouch or a cummerbund-type garment to help secure the pouch.
  • If you are a woman, intimate apparel such as a wrap, a garter belt, or camisole can help you feel more confident as it covers your pouch. Crotch-less underwear might also be an option to provide more support for the ostomy as your body moves. If you prefer, there are a few companies that make special lingerie for people with an ostomy - these typically include a built-in pocket to both hide the pouch and hold it close against your body.
  • Another product option is a pouch cover. These come in an array of different colors and patterns and can help your pouch feel more discreet.
