Transanal irrigation (TAI) with Peristeen® Plus is an effective bowel management technique that empties feces from the lower colon in a controlled manner, allowing patients to be in control of when and where they empty their bowels.

Peristeen Plus Transanal Irrigation System is an upgrade to Peristeen. Thanks to feedback from healthcare professionals and users, we have identified usability improvements and added new features that make it easier to use. Peristeen Plus is built on the legacy of Peristeen, with the same safety and efficacy profile, and the same functionality. True to Coloplast values, we have listened and responded to the needs of our users.

Effective products

Peristeen Plus performs and functions the same as Peristeen, the world’s most clinically documented device. Peristeen Plus Transanal Irrigation (TAI) system with balloon catheter can be used by pediatric (age 2+) and adult patients with neurogenic bowel dysfunction (NBD), especially those with reduced hand dexterity. When performed daily or every other day, as instructed by a qualified healthcare professional, TAI is an effective bowel emptying technique that provides confidence, predictability and peace of mind.1

Uncompromising support

Even with a good product, TAI can be a demanding process requiring a comprehensive, inclusive approach. Coloplast provides users and healthcare professionals with product and lifestyle support that is so important for a successful long-term outcome with TAI: Coloplast tools and resources for healthcare professionals, and Coloplast® Care patient support program for Peristeen Plus users.
