Do you have problems with pancaking?

Pancaking happens when there is no air in your pouch, causing stool to get stuck around the stoma instead of sliding to the bottom of the pouch.

Masking odor and lubricates the pouch

The Brava® Lubricating Deodorant masks odor and ensures stool is always at the bottom of the bag and not around your stoma. It also makes the pouch easier to empty.

  • Trapping air inside the pouch can help. Before applying the pouch, apply a filter cover and once the release liner is removed, blow into the pouch to insert a pocket of air. Finally, apply the pouch.
  • If you are using a one-piece closed pouch and the above doesn’t help, consider trying a two-piece system, or a drainable pouch, and use the coupling or drainable outlet to reintroduce some air - for example every time you go to the restroom to urinate.
  • Using suspenders or high-waisted pants can also help reduce pressure.
